Have You Seen My Newest Holiday Food Ornaments? Here They Are!

My Dick’s Drive-In Cheeseburger Ornaments Have Arrived!

The absolute best part of the holiday season is when I get to stuff my tree full of food ornaments like these:

Food Food Food Food FOOD!

These are all food ornaments that I have on my tree every year – and am always adding more as you will soon see!

I don’t remember when this obsession began, but for at least the last decade I have collected all kinds of tree food ornaments – like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich:

Friends and family have sent me new ones every year, and since we are in New York for part of the holiday celebration, I had to get a few new ones for the apartment:

Red Twizzlers, a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha and as my friend Jodie pointed out: a NOLA po’boy on French bread with Blue Plate mayo!

They are all nice additions, and of course, I had to shoot this video of all of the latest food additions to my tree! Take a look:

Yes, I also got a nice boxed wine for the tree, and an even more festive drink for the season as well:

While I LOVE the Bloody Mary ornament, my favorite is always the Dick’s Drive-In Cheeseburger ornament!

Remember that I served Alex a caviar-topped Dick’s Cheeseburger for Valentine’s Day and I’m not ashamed of that fact!

Of course, with a burger you need a beverage so why not a classic cup of New York coffee!

Here is how the tree is shaping up:

I also bought some subway line bulbs, as you can see the “A” line and the “M” lines, along with “J”, “S” and “L” lines too – all connected to family!

Ok, and as there are so many more of my holiday food ornament collection in LA, here’s a sneak peek:

If you want to see them all, click here for more pics and videos!

My small tree was fun to decorate, but here’s one that took a bit longer:

The “lighting” of the massive holiday tree at New York’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza is quite the show – here is the video:

See more of the majesty of this annual tradition by looking at my story here:

I have to start planning my Christmas feast, which traditionally is this incredible dish thanks to Patricia Wells:

This is a Gigot D’Agneau – a leg of lamb roasted in the oven over sliced onion, potato and tomato!

Here’s the recipe plus some wild side dishes too!

As as for those Dick’s burgers – I often share this photo of a “bag of Dicks!”

I took a look at why this company is so beloved. Click here for a celebration of this legendary hamburger stand!

  7. This is too cool. I love my sweets so the twizzlers would rank high on my list. The holidays are hard enough to keep weight off. With that tree, I would need to start my New Yea’s Eve work out resolution in Mid December. Ha ha, love it John.
