So much hatred in the world. Constant fighting. Yelling and screaming with no purpose but to make sure everyone knows how angry you are about perceived slights and injustices. I needed to take a break from it and so I watched this video I shot of beach waves from Cayucos, California.
You can also watch windsurfers glide along the water as well…much easier to watch them than try to do it myself:
Cayucos is about three hours north of Los Angeles, midway to San Francisco. It sits on the Pacific Ocean and is a much-needed escape from the world. Here’s the time I watched a Sea Otter eating breakfast and it was strangely calming:
I grew up near the sea, and being near it, and watching the waves or beach life go by is one of my all-time favourite things to do. It’s definitely a great way to relax and chill out for a bit. Even a virtual visit, such as this, does wonders!
And it really is bad – and we here in the US are doing our part in that regard – hopefully we will get back to sanity and that all of these conflicts around the world can be resolved and we turn our attention to making our world better!
Oh the beauty of the web. Now this is the good stuff. Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to avoid the hatred and anger if only for a couple of minutes watching your videos. Thanks John.
It was a reaction to watching the VP debate last night and then the tearing apart of both of them by the media afterwards…it just wore me out! Thank you for the comment!
You’re so right, it’s so exhausting. I wrote about similar topics today on The Heart of the Matter and my own blog. In my own blog, I especially touch on the politics. We were traveling last week and when we came home, we were flooded with negative ads again, it was so demoralizing. I’m grateful for the quick break from reality. Ha, ha.
You can't take the Scotland out of a girl... Reel entertainment reviews and more from that Darlin Husband’s Scottish, square-eyed and film-mad wife living in Finland.
Ah, we all need this beauty!

I can feel that chill, John! Definitely a better alternative to watching the TV News at the moment.
Best wishes, Pete.
