Welcome To Tianmen Mountain!
Here is one of nature’s most amazing sights: a mountain that has a hole in it!
Tianmen Mountain in China is famous for its water-eroded cave, which literally formed a “hole” in the mountain! It also has an amazing pathway – an impressive flight of 999 stairs leading up to it. It take more than a half hour just to walk up it.
For one amazing Parkour athlete, he did the opposite – he RAN DOWN IT in two minutes – while filming with a goPro in his mouth!
Calen Chan performed this “ninja warrior” style magic.
Here’s how he explains the video:
“My name is Calen Chan, and this is a FULL POV RUN of the Skyladder Parkour course at Tianmen Mountain in China! I had the wonderful opportunity to come and play here at this beautiful location called Heaven’s Gate. It has an average incline of 45 degrees, and is 999 steps long (about 3 football fields)!”
Here is his youtube video of the run!
By the way, Tianmen Mountain in China also has a mile-high hiking trail – made of glass!
Yes, they built a glass walkway around the mountain!
I’ve shown you some of these incredibly dangerous mountain trails in China:
Want to take that walk? check it out here:
Speaking of Parkour, it reminds me of the time I went to watch the taping of the amazing show “Ninja Warrior” in Tokyo!
Yes, Olivia Munn took the challenge and ran this parkour course – see how she did here:

20 years ago I would have walked up the stairs. I did the climb up to the Masada fortress.

I would definitely have walked the steps and the glass walkway when I was younger, maybe up until my early 50s. But no way would I try it now. :)Best wishes, Pete.
