Talk About Hugging The Road!
Would you drive this highway? I think I know the answer!
It’s called the Chongqing Lanying Grand Canyon Wall Highway – and it’s in China!
Yes, this highway was literally cut out of the side of a mountain – and while there is a short retaining wall on the edge, it literally hugs a cliff!
I found a video that shows you more about what to expect on this “wild ride”:
It’s just another example of the wild wild world of wonder in China…like this hiking path:
Yes, it’s crazy – and it’s just one of the wild hikes I found in China – check them out here:
One of the other fascinating aspects of life in China is this:
Did you know that more than 30-million Chinese still live in caves?

And the Chinese also love their water parks:
Yes, this one sends a crazy tsunami of water to patrons!

Hi John, a lovely post. We have a few passes cut into the mountain here in SA too. I don’t like driving them.

Crazy! No cliff hanging road or hike for me. Sign me up for the water park with the tsunami!

I was imagining it had to be a one-way road. Then I watched the video, and saw cars coming the other way! Not a chance I would drive along it. Imagine if you broke down? And what if the car coming the other way was too big to pass? Would you have to reverse back for miles? Definitely not one for me, John. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
