Ready For More Blue-Faced Action?
When released in 2009, “Avatar” blew audiences away with its depiction of a planet with giant blue creatures…and it quickly became the highest grossing film of all time!
Now, more than 12 years later, the first of many sequels is ready to be seen!
As Deadline.com reports:
“The sequel to the highest-grossing movie ever is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. It follows the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”
Ready to see what Director James Cameron has some up with?
Here it is:
Well?
“Avatar” was a pop culture phenomenon when released, but has too much time passed since then – or are you eager for more blue planet adventures?
Will lightning strike twice? As a cost reported to be over ONE BILLION DOLLARS, Director James Cameron filmed FOUR sequels simultaneously, so there’s a lot riding on this…
As Producer Jon Landau said at CinemaCon last month:
“One of the strengths of Jim Cameron’s scripts is they are always universal and relatable themes that he weaves into them.”
He went on. to say:
“At the center of each of the four sequels will be the Sully family. Each story will be a stand-alone and each will come to its own conclusion,” he added. There will be a “fulfilling resolution to each film, but when looked at as a whole the journey across all four will create a larger epic saga.”
Good luck to all involved…the first film was a wild 3-D thrill ride…speaking of which:

I thought the original was a good idea, but felt I had ‘overdosed’ on the CGi by the end of it. I might give the sequels a miss, to be honest.
Best wishes, Pete.

The trailer is so filled with CGI that the “majesty” of it doesn’t really come across as the first one did..perhaps they should have showed more “real” people as well…time will tell1

I think Lightning will strike twice because it’s simply an absolutely GORGEOUS looking film. I don’t know that I’ll see it, because I’m not on board with some of the first movie’s themes and messaging, but I cannot deny how beautiful it is. My nephew is really keen to see it and he’s a budding young nerd that I’m keen to spoil, so…

Thanks for that insight…agree on the messaging – Cameron glorifies military conflict and violence a bit more than I like
