“The British Are Coming!”
It’s the warning that all “Downton Abbey” fans want to hear – a new trailer and release date have been announced for the second film!
The entire clan head to the south of France in this sequel to 2019’s feature film spin-off from the hit period TV series.
“Downton Abbey: A New Era” Is Coming!
That’s the title of the new film.
As reported in Deadline.com:
Directed by Simon Curtis, Downton Abbey: A New Era sees the regular cast returning alongside newcomers Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West. The film follows Maggie Smith’s Violet Crawley as she reveals that she has a mysterious past and has inherited a ‘villa’ (or sizeable mansion depending on your definition) on the French Riviera.
Check out the trailer:
Focus Features will open the pic globally on March 18, 2022.
I am a huge fan of the show, and the first film as well:
I even bought a cookbook based on the food in the show – and I cooked too!
Here is the cookbook and the dish I made from it – fit for royalty:
I enjoy cooking food from great films – and have a series of posts called “Dinner And A Movie”.
Recently I shared this recipe for a “Pasta Pie!”
It’s the “Timpano” made in the terrific film “Big Night” – and you can see the entire recipe by clicking on the story here:
And if you wan to know how to make “Goodfellas Garlic”, then do I have the recipe for you:
I previously shared the meatball recipe from “Goodfellas”, which included the legendary “Goodfellas Garlic” process as shown here by the great character Actor Paul Sorvino – see it here:

I watched the entire series on TV, but have yet to see the first film. Good idea to move the second one to France, and shake up the story with a change of scene.
Best wishes, Pete.
