The Story Behind Southern California’s UFO Sightings! The Skies Are Filled With Space Junk – Coming And Going!

Hey! What’s That Up In The Sky?!?!?!

These past few months have been filled with stories about UFO’s and Aliens…this recent news headline sums up the current mania that is everywhere:

“Whether Or Not Aliens Exist, Delaware and Maryland Residents Report UFOs All The Time”

Do they? Well, they think they do!

This is the stuff that social media loves to share, and news organizations love to cover:

So why am I telling you this?

Well, remember what I saw in December 2017?

What’s Flying Across Southern California? An Early Santa Sighting?

Southern California was buzzing when this appeared in the sky that night in 2017, high in the sky – and do you all remember that I grabbed my camera and got this video of it:

So…Did I Record A UFO?

Of course not, but with private space travel the new “hot ticket”, there have been more rocket launches and tests in the Southern California area than ever!

What we all saw that night was another in a series of Space X rocket launches – not sure if they warned anyone, but it sure caught us off guard!

As the Los Angeles Times reported at the time:

“What was that in the skies above L.A. on Friday night that stopped traffic and sparked both alarm and curiosity?

It was a rocket!

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 5:27 p.m., was carrying 10 satellites to low-Earth orbit. The satellites will be part of a constellation operated by Iridium Communications. All 10 satellites successfully deployed, with the last one deploying about 1 hour and 12 minutes after liftoff.

Most of these look like rocket launches, but some are seen as UFO’s when they kind of look like a small cloud in the sky:

That doesn’t change the fact that UFO sightings will continue to fascinate us as we continue to send “space people” into outer space!

Of course, you can actually watch the earth from outer space live at any time!

  1. Well, technically they are unidentified, until they become identified, than they’re whatever they are…. but that video was awesome, even if it was just a rocket!

  4. You took a fabulous video, John! The more ‘stuff’ that’s in space, the bigger the interest and sightings in UGO’s. Very cool!!
