Disneyland Reopens And Begs You To “Scream Inside Your Heart!”

“Please scream inside your heart.”

Why do I love Japan? This is just another reason.

“No Scream” Roller Coasters!

When theme parks in Japan reopened last summer after that country did a great job containing the pandemic spread, they had one simple rule to stay safe:

No screaming.

Japan’s Tokyo Dome is shown before amusement rides began to reopen in the country. Japanese amusement park operators have asked people on rides at some parks not to scream.

News outlets around the world covered this story, and this phrase summed up all of 2020.

“Please scream inside your heart.”

Now, Disneyland has announced a reopening in California, and they are asking visitors to do the same:

No Screaming!

That’s right, company Officials say they are going to ask visitors to keep their screaming to a minimum to avoid potential spread of germs….just like Japan!

Bravo Disney!

I commend them for not relaxing social distancing, masking and other safety measures…we are not out of the wood yet!

When Japan lifted their state of emergency, a group of major theme park operators introduced a set of guidelines on how to ensure the safety of both guests and staff in the face of Covid-19.

And Disneyland is following their lead – so when you head back to the Magic Kingdom, do so this way:

Instead, their request was simple:

“Scream Inside Your Heart.”

I love this line, and I implore everyone to wear a mask, stay socially distant, get your vaccination and let’s us all work together to eradicate this plague that is killing so many around the world.

Japan had many unique ways to deal with the pandemic, like this drive-thru haunted house!

How cool is this?

You can click my story to see how scary a drive-thru haunted house can be!

I would also stay in a haunted house – or in this case, a haunted HOTEL:

That’s right: it’s haunted! The Monarch Hotel has a variety of creepy “death rooms” to sleep in – see more details by clicking on my story here:

Back to Disneyland – once we all go again, we will all wait in a socially distanced line for one of these!

Yes, Churro Toffee – and Disneyland’s recipe is legendary! If you don’t want to wait in line, click here to see how to make it yourself!

  1. Way to go, Disneyland, and what a perfect way to ask people not to scream.

  2. As I never go to theme parks, I won’t have to be worrying about screaming or not screaming. I would eat some of that churro toffee though, and just watch everyone else screaming. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

Hmm. I wonder what percentage of people control their screams? It feels like it’s more along the lines of an involuntary response. Churro toffee looks divine.

    • I love the concept, and how “zen” they are in asking…I doubt a single person will keep their mouth closed on a roller coaster, but it can’t hurt to ask! Thanks for commenting, always great to hear from you!

  4. I remember your previous post about the theme park in Japan, John, and the no screaming rule. It is a good thing Disney is doing the same. I hope people will comply.

    • I’m not expecting many to, Robbie, but it speaks to how these companies don’t want people to forget what we are still fighting…at least now we have leadership to help guide us in a responsible way…hope things are improving there as well
