Roller-coaster riders at one of Beijing’s major amusement parks were left hanging upside down for almost 20 minutes when a bird stood on one of the ride’s safety sensors!

It happened at the Happy Valley Amusement Park – and it took 18 minutes to bring the 26 riders to safety!

That’s right – EIGHTEEN MINUTES UPSIDE DOWN!

The riders were stranded near the ride’s peak – 100 feet in the air! Luckily, aside from nausea and shock, No one was injured!

As I said, it happened in China, where THIS is a common occurrence:

Welcome To Rush Hour!

Every single day is a traffic jam on China’s subways, the world’s most crowded!

That would be awful! I’ve had this nightmare in my dreams—not in real life. I do like my roller coasters as long as they aren’t that type that spin repeatedly. I also don’t do those drop you as fast as you can rides either.

  2. It sounds like many of us loved the thrill as kids and young adults and then we grew up…I no longer have any desire whatsoever and to be hung upside down for 18 mins ..Jeez I don’t think I would ever recover from that…:) A thrilling post as always , John 🙂

  4. I used to love all coasters and rides, but for years I’ve had no desire to seek the thrill of the coasters or the dizziness of the others. horrifying situation for the upside down crew

  5. The stranding upside down happened in Sweeden as well. I was going there and was not allowed by my parents to go on it just after it happened

  6. When I went to see The Great Wall it was nothing like how it was shown in the photos on your 2016 post. That was in September 2000, and I was free to wander around for a couple of hours taking photos with hardly anyone around. There are a few different places to start a trip to the wall, so perhaps I was lucky to be with a very small group, (6 of us) and a savvy guide who just let us do our own thing.
I never go on fairground rides, so there would be no danger of me being stuck upside down!
    Best wishes, Pete.
