Fighting Off Piranha! My #TravelChallenge Day #8 Heads To Cabo San Lucas For Killer Fish! Whales And Sea Lions Too!

Who’s Up For a Travel Challenge?

That’s me, just getting some exercise on vacation…NOT!

I am taking part in a ten day #TravelChallenge, which allowed me to jump into my old photos of magical adventures, like the time I saw this guy showing off while my daughter and I were snorkeling!

Welcome To Cabo San Lucas!

Day #8 of this social media challenge I was nominated to participate in takes me back to a fun getaway my daughter and I had in Cabo, just a 2-1/2 hour flight from Los Angeles.

Here’s “The Arch”, a narrow strip of land and rock formation that separates the Sea of Cortez from The Pacific Ocean, and a great place to check out Cabo’s incredible wildlife!

The Dolphins joined us for part of our trip, and for some, these waters made for good eating!

Here’s a solo fisherman having one last go of it in the Sea Of Cortez as the sun sets over Cabo San Lucas:

Details On This “Travel Challenge!”

The above photo shows just how inspiring our world can be – and how exhilarating it can be to explore it.

Now, about the “travel challenge”: it’s all about visual images – so the challenge is to post a favorite travel picture for 10 days without explanation – well, I fudged on that one early and often!

Cue The “Piranha!”

Well, not technically “Piranha”, but when I show you how they respond to offers of food, you just might think so!

It all began when my daughter and I went snorkeling…

When you stick your head underwater, you realize you are surrounded by fish of all shapes, sizes and colors..really incredible, but there’s more: it turns out that these are very well trained fish who know a free meal when they see one.

Here’s what happens when you drop a bread roll in the water:

Of course, they are not the only sea creatures who are trained – what makes Cabo so much fun is that there is a variety of wild life that knows where there bread is buttered, as you can see by this freeloading Sea Lion catching a lift and a bite to eat:

We had a blast exploring this unique part of Mexico, and I’m sure the Sea Lions will welcome us back with open arms and mouths as well!

Of course, we also came across a pod of whales while out on the water, and if you watch closely, they pop up throughout this video:

I love traveling, and I love taking pictures, so this was an easy challenge for me…

I was nominated by Carol, whose website link is below. Carol shares terrific stories about exotic food and unique recipes, as well as important stories about our environment!

Over the past eight days, I have shown you killer fish and the world’s most idyllic oasis, located in the middle of New York City:

Central Park is incredible, with so much to see – you can get a taste of this big apple getaway by clicking on my story here:

I also explored Budapest thanks to the iconic Orient Express Train:

You can click on my story and see my disastrous decision to film us chugging into Budapest – a smoky mistake to be sure…just click here for the video and more:

  1. That’s one smart sealion in the video. Thankfully the fish weren’t piranha or you would be in trouble while snorkelling. Looks like a great experience.
