Get “Spellbound” For Halloween!
This is the month that I watch a lot of horror films, and also read great horror fiction – so I’m excited to share news on a new anthology of supernatural horror!
From the creators of the #1 bestselling horror anthology “Nightmareland” comes a new collection of horror: “Spellbound” – an anthology of scary stories – 27 stories from 16 authors!
As the promo states:
A young girl and her mother seek out a mysterious sorceress to guide the child in developing her powers, but the beautiful blonde witch has ideas of her own – and desires a powerful book that only the child can give her.
Tremble along as the stories in the magical book are revealed. “Some are true, some are false, and some are spells disguised as stories, to hide our kind from those who would do us harm.”
My blogging Friend Robbie Cheadle is once again included in the anthology – writing under the name of Roberta Eaton Cheadle. What makes Robbie such a great Writer is that she can do children’s cookbooks, poetry and historical fiction, as well as chilling supernatural tales as well!
Bravo Robbie and all of the Authors who are included in this collection: Robbie posted an in-depth look at the book and the participating Writers, which you can see by clicking on her story here:

Robbie also published a supernatural thriller as well:
“Through The Nethergate” is terrific, and you can find out more about it by clicking on my story here:
Robbie’s work evokes some of the best supernatural horror writing of another great Author: Stephen King!
A classic horror story from King is “Salem’s Lot” – his second novel after “Carrie” and a classic work of horror fiction…click here to find out more:

Hi Michael, thank you for visiting and commenting. I am looking forward to Halloween too. We don’t have Halloween here so I am participating in an on-line Halloween party hosted by Kaye Lynne Booth.

27 stories, that’s an impressive anthology! I like the sound of that, and Through The Nethergate too. It sounds like something King could have written. This is why I love October – discovering lots of cool new thrilling books & horror flicks!

Exactly… I saw “Candyman” for the first time this weekend…good!

I liked Candyman, been over a decade since I watched it though so I could go for a re-watch. I’m glad you’ve managed to see it for yourself. It’s a shame the revamped version, acting as a sequel rather than a remake, due this year has been posponed because of Covid. I’m curious to see what that’ll be like!

It’s interesting looking for “scary” movies, as many are just suspenseful or worse, just needlessly violent. I mix and match them, and use this time as a chance to discover films I missed…thanks for commenting, always great to hear from you!

I had Spellbound on pre-order, so should have my copy. I really enjoyed ‘Salem’s Lot’, and the film miniseries was good too.
Best wishes, Pete.

Salem’s Lot and The Shining are the two books by Stephen King that scared me the most, Pete. I hope you enjoy the stories.

Reblogged this on Robbie's inspiration and commented:
John Rieber has shared a lovely post about Spellbound, a new horror anthology compiled by Dan Alatorre in which I have two short horror stories. He has also mentioned my supernatural fantasy book, Through the Nethergate. Thank you, John!
Do go over and have a look around at John’s fascinating blog. He writes about his amazing travels, interesting dishes as well as movies, movie stars, music and books.
