Remember last Valentine’s Day when I showed you the “Love Sausage?”
Yes, the English store Marks & Spencer unveiled these last year, and this year, they’ve gone one better:
Behold The “Love Cucumber!”
Yes, it’s a real cucumber, grown in a special mold on their own farms so it looks like a heart!
As Thedailymail.uk reported, the store unveiled their new creation with a cool idea for a drink! They report:
The store took to Instagram yesterday to announce the Love Cucumbers’ arrival, sharing a photo of them sliced into an enticing gin and tonic.
The caption read: ‘You’ve heard of the Love Sausage and now it’s time to try our Love Cucumber!
‘Actually heart-shaped and a world first, it’s been grown exclusively for M&S – just the thing for adding to your Valentine’s G&T.’
Looks tasty to me!
The company understands how this may sound, so they’ve taken to social media with a fun campaign to sell their unique product:
I give credit to the company: they sure know how to get press!
These special Valentine’s Day treats are a unique and tasty way to say “I love you!”
But what if you miss their previous best seller?
Don’t worry: the store still has their cheeky “Love Sausage” for sale as well:

I think these look so effective! I would definitely enjoy one in my gin tomorrow night while my partner showers me with gifts and love 😉

Whatever vegetable or fruit that can be grown in a mold that allows them to charge a lot more for a “formed” piece of food! Thanks as always for reading!

If we could just get them to make olives heart shaped our dirty martinis would be on fleek for Valentine’s Day! Loved the ingenuity and creativeness!!! I’m all in on crazy, commercialized, holiday fun.

That’s hilarious! Yes, how about heart-shaped stuffed olives – I love a Dirty Martini but they have to be stuffed with blue cheese! Thanks for the idea and for commenting, I appreciate it!

It seems as if M&S are trying to appeal to the younger market, with their cheeky advertising. You might be aware, but they are the most expensive supermarket here, specialising in selling to the ‘luxury’ end of the food retail market. Their fortunes have been fluctuating in recent years, as their traditional older, middle-class customers have deserted them.
I don’t ‘play the game’ on the 14th. Other than a card for my wife, I buy no gifts for that day. It has become far too over-commercialised.
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, they seem to be trying to breakthrough on social media with this kind of “cheeky” food…we have a high end supermarket chain here in LA called Whole Food, also known as “whole paycheck.” They were bought by Amazon and now aggressively fight for their business by offering two hour delivery of anything in their store! It’s convenient, I will give them that!
