I LOVED The Cars…they brought new wave and power pop into the 80’s…sad news, so enjoy these terrific songs and remember the impact they had!
Just a couple of days after Eddie Money passed away, Ric Ocasek, singer, songwriter, and co-founder of The Cars has died. Ocasek and Ben Orr (who died in 2000) formed the group in 1976, along with Elliott Easton, Greg Hawkes and David Robinson. Their self-titled debut was near perfection and helped kick off the new wave scene. As I did with Eddie Money, I’m going to share a few of my favorite songs by the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers. Please feel free to share some of yours in the comments.
Emotion in Motion is my favorite solo by Ric.
I apologize. This wound up being more than a “few” videos, but once I started, I remembered how much I love The Cars and I had a difficult time picking my favorites. I’m going to end here with Free from their last album, Move Like This (2011).
