It’s The “Bottom of the 9th!”
Baseball fans know that that phrase means: it’s all or nothing, your last chance to come back and win, your last chance at redemption.
As of July 19th, you can see how Joe Manganiello handles his last time at bat in this terrific new film!
“Bottom Of The 9th” stars Joe Manganiello, Sofía Vergara, Michael Rispoli and Denis O’Hare – it’s the story of a terrific baseball prospect who has to come to terms with the decisions he’s made in life.
After serving 17 years in prison for a violent mistake he made in his youth, a once-aspiring baseball player returns to his Bronx neighborhood. Times have changed, but can he reclaim his former glory?
Here is the trailer:
Manganiello’s wife Sofia Vergara stars in the film as well. Joe is also one of the film’s Producers, along with his brother Nick.
This is the sort of film that deserves support – add to it the theme of redemption, and of course it’s a sports movie, so c’mon, time to cheer Joe on!
“Bottom Of The 9th” will be in theaters and Ondemand July 19th!

I am not really that knowledgeable about baseball, John.
But I did watch ‘The Natural’, ‘Field of Dreams’, ‘Cobb’, ‘A League of Their Own’, ‘Bull Durham’, ‘Eight Men Out’, ‘The Babe’, and ‘The Fan’. You would think after all that I would understand the game. But I don’t! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, this is a comeback story of redemption, just uses baseball as the device to tell the story…i’m trying to support independent films more – who needs a “Lion King” promo, right? As for baseball movies, Bull Durham and The Natural are classics, and all of the ones listed are really good films! You should try “The Rookie” with Dennis Quaid as well!

It will be Ondemand as well – I want to support independent cinema and these films don’t get as much attention as they deserve! Thanks for the comment!
