The “Clam Chowder Popsicle!” “What The Friday?!?!” Is It Real??? I’ve Got The Answer!

Yes, It’s A “New England Clam Chowder Popsicle!”

OK, now that you’ve seen this, you can NEVER UNSEE IT.

Yes, it’s a Campbell Soup New England Clam Chowder Popsicle, and guess what folks:

IT’S REAL!!!!!

Here’s how it all began:

Eater.com reported recently on the origin of this wacky food:

“Boston Magazine found the frozen treat while trawling the depths of the r/Boston subreddit, where a user posted a photo of the popsicle — apparently birthed from the unholy union of a Campbell’s can of chunky New England clam chowder, a popsicle mold, and a freezer — with the caption “Summah is here! #NewEngland #clamchowdah.” (The photo had been making the rounds on Reddit for a few days, but Boston Magazine can be blamed for elevating it to national attention.)”

Yes, another example of the power of investigative reporting…

So there you go: someone’s friend made it, they ate it, social media devoured it, and now we have to live with it!

With all due respect to Campbell Soup, who does make a nice canned chowder, this is NOT how we should be treating this soup!

Clams need to be respected – remember THIS product?

A Miracle Hangover Cure!

Yes, it’s a can filled with the juice of SEVENTY Clams, and it’s a hangover cure! Well, it is if you live in Japan – click my story to get more details on this miracle hangover cure:

  1. I think that paper should rethink calling this a frozen ‘treat. More like a nightmare 🤤

  2. Nope I won’t be making them soon. My first thought was what other cans do they have to make Popsicle with? Tomato soup? You find the best stuff!!!

    • Robbie, I have a VERY unique food item I will be sharing soon – and it’s NOT this – I was fascinated that it went viral, and people wanted to know if it was real – it was, but that doesn’t make it appealing at all! Thanks as always for the comment and for sharing it!

  4. I love clam chowder soup in a bowl. I don’t think I will love it cold and on a stick. So in the new future I don’t think I will be making this any time soon. thanks for sharing it.

  5. On balance, I would sooner drink the Japanese hangover cure than eat the ice lolly. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.
