Want To Punch Keanu Reeves? Then This Is The Film For You!
I will explain all of this in a moment, but first – it’s time to share a great new comedy!
This “cult movie Monday” is a brand new film that just premiered on Netflix. “Always Be My Maybe” stars Ali Wong, Randall Park and James Saito in a terrific romantic comedy that has the usual setup: they were best friends while growing up, but after being reunited 15 years later, the now-famous chef Sasha and hometown musician Marcus feel the old sparks of attraction – while struggling to adapt to each other’s new worlds.
Here is the trailer for “Always Be My Maybe!” – directed by Nahnatchka Khan, and wait for Keanu’s arrival at the end:

Yes, the film soars when Keanu Reeves arrives – AS Keanu Reeves, the mega-star that Chef Sasha takes to dinner, with hilarious results! Here is the song “I Punched Keanu Reeves” from the film:
No need to share any more info, you will love how it plays out! Bravo to Netflix for taking ownership of the “rom com” movie, and bravo to the entire creative team in front of, and behind the camera!
Keanu has said that he makes the films that interest him, so it can be the mega-hit series “John Wick”, or a return to his “earlier days”…

My husband and I watched this yesterday and absolutely LOVED it. It was so sharp, clever, and most of all, funny. It felt authentic and sincere, with just enough cringe and many excellent dialogue. Everything with Keanu was absolutely hilarious, and I loved seeing him play the extreme version of himself. It was awesome, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the lead actors/producers. Great post for a wonderful movie!

I just watched this yesterday because my boyfriend really wanted to see it. To say he is the biggest Keanu Reeves fan is an understatement and when he appeared in the movie he about LOST IT. I admit, I was not a huge Keanu fan, but with my boyfriend’s help he’s really grown on me. This movie was AWESOME. I absolutely adore Ali Wong and she was great in this movie. Randall Park’s character was enjoyable as well and the music he and his band played was really good. I loved the underlying message and hope for more great things from Wong, Park, and Reeves in the future!

Thanks for the terrific note1 Yes, Keanu was having a blast making fun of the “cult of personality” and I also enjoyed them having a few laughs at the expense of molecular cuisine…there is a place in LA that is $450 per person and one reviewer said they left hungry! My wife interviewed Keanu once and he is as gracious, polite and professional as everyone says…an absolute class act…

I loved Reeves in Ed and Ted. I’m watching the Wick trilogy–just finished the first one. On to the second. Hoping to catch Parabellum while it’s still in theaters. I’m sure the kick-ass scenes will be memorable on the big screen.

I confess I have been watching very little on Netflix, John. Maybe I should look this one up?
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, it’s a “rom com”, not sure if you’d take to it, but since anything on there is yours for one low price, it doesn’t cost anything to try! If you do, and don’t like it, fast forward to the Keanu bit, he has a lot of fun with “celebrity”
