What If “Yesterday” – There Were No Beatles!
A new film trailer dropped today for a wild new film that imagines a world where no one remembers the Beatles – except this guy!
Yes, he knows all of the songs, but nobody else does!
Take “Slumdog Millionaire” Director Danny Boyle, “Love Actually” Writer/Director Richard Curtis, and a great cast including Lily James and Kate McKinnon, along with cameos by Ed Sheeran and James Corden among others – and you get a fascinating new film called “Yesterday”!
Here is the trailer:
Well, this is a fascinating premise – and who better to deliver it that Director Boyle, who made such classic films as the aforementioned “Slumdog Millionaire” as well as “Transpotting” and “Sunshine” – with a script by Richard Curtis, whose romantic comedy “Notting Hill” is a classic as well!
I cannot wait to see what Boyle does with this unique concept…and I assume he will be MUCH more successful than a previous attempt to utilize The Beatles’ music in a movie:
Ouch! Remember this disastrous attempt to use the band’s music? Click here two “lost” Beatles films!

Let me know what you think of the “Yesterday” trailer!

This is rather an unusual idea for a film about the Beatles, John. It will be interesting to see whether it is successful or not.

I forgot to add, John. A part of this film is made on location at Gorleston Beach, which is in Norfolk, 40 miles from Beetley. 🙂

This sounds like a very ‘British’ film, and another ‘formula’ success for Curtis. I probably won’t be watching it though. 🙂
I anticipate a US remake soon, with one person being the only one who remembers the songs of Michael Jackson!
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, there is a new 4 hour documentary about to premiere on HBO that looks at Michael Jackson’s alleged “problem with young boys”…I doubt you will be seeing much else about him for some time to come…

This is a film I would love to watch – love The Beatles (grew up listening to their songs).
Was that Ed Sheeran I spied in the trailer?
