“Woolsey fire forces mass evacuations from Malibu to Calabasas; many homes lost”
This is the current headline on the Los Angeles Times website: a very bad day in Los Angeles, as the city of Malibu is under mandatory evacuation due to the Woolsey fire, which “jumped” the major 101 freeway and is being pushed west toward the ocean by strong winds.
In addition, Thousand Oaks has seen damage from this fire as well – just two days after the horrendous mass shooting that took place there, so that community is really struggling.
This gives you an idea of the news coverage underway here…nothing else to add, and you can go to the LATimes for more updates – but it’s not a day to post other stories…for those impacted we hope that firefighters are able to fight this one successfully, as they have always managed to do in the past…

Glad to hear you are out of the fire zone, John, but of course I am sorry for those affected. This wasn’t reported here today, (yet) not that I saw anyway. Thankfully, Beetley is rarely in any danger from wildfires, which must be terrifying to get caught up in.
Best wishes, Pete.
