Time To Head To Europe To Cook With The Pros!

PAtricia Wells Provence cooking class

Alex and I had the chance to cook at a terrific cooking school in the south of France, and I have posted about that great adventure before…perhaps that is why I was so intrigued by a book I found, which documented one Writer’s effort to change his life by cooking his way through Europe!

The Saucier's Apprentice

The Saucier’s Apprentice: One Long Strange Trip through the Great Cooking Schools of Europe!

This is the perfect storm of a memoir: a great travel guide, a funny cooking adventure, and a mid-life crisis all in one book!

  1. This sounds like such an amazing opportunity for a cookery enthusiast. I have only ever been to a cookery school whilst in Thailand, and it was so much fun that I would jump at the chance to do something similar, closer to home. I hope that you enjoyed your time in cookery school too.

    • Patricia Wells and her husband were phenomenal Hosts – we made great food as a group, did fun tours, and drinks lots of wine! It was one of our favorite trips ever! I have been to Bangkok for work, and the closest I got to cooking was filming disco bowling at 2a with Miss Thailand!

      • It sounds like so much fun. My experience in a bangcock market nearly put me off eating altogether…it was not for the faint of heart (or a recovering vegetarian like myself 😉 ). Such a fascinating place though.

  2. I love cooking. This sounds a wonderful and interesting food travel.

  3. I love to cook, and this looks like another amazing adventure.

  4. I missed this the first time, John, so thanks for reblogging.
(The Beatles even manage to get into a food post. 🙂 )
    Best wishes, Pete.
