Judd Apatow Takes Us Inside The Brilliance Of Garry Shandling!
HBO just released their trailer for an amazing look at Comedian Garry Shandling’s life!
Here is their release:
“Epic in scope and intimate in detail, The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling features conversations with more than 40 of Shandling’s family and friends, including James L. Brooks, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, David Coulier, Jon Favreau, Jay Leno, Kevin Nealon, Conan O’Brien, Bob Saget, Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman, and four decades’ worth of TV appearances, along with personal journals, private letters and candid home audio and video footage that reveal his brilliant mind and restless soul. Don’t miss the premiere of The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling March 26 a 5:00PM on HBO.”
Shandling died on March 24, 2016, and I can’t wait to see this tribute to his talent.
Here is the trailer:
When Shandling died two years ago, I posted this look at his career – which includes his brilliant standup act and a look at his TV shows, including “The Larry Sanders Show.”

I feel like a broken record, I look forward to the day Netflix Australia makes the Larry Sanders show available. Other than that I’ve seen his stand-up on Carson and he was a talent. Look forward to seeing this.
I have never really watched Gary Shandling, so have little to add. If you say it’s good, then I am happy to take your word for it, but I have little idea what he is like.
Best wishes, Pete.
Pete, you can find some of his standup act on youtube – he’s really funny with perfect comic timing…”The Larry Sanders Show” is a terrific show done for HBO where he plays a late-night talk show host, with a goofy sidekick and lots of staff issues…worth checking out as well!

That’s a shame, because they are really terrific – Jeffrey Tambor and Rip Torn as well!
