The Human Body As A Canvas! The World Bodypainting Festival Is Back! A Brush And A Body Equals Art!

Behold The Human Body As A Work Of Art!

One of the most unique art festivals is underway again – the art of body painting! There is a festival held in Austria that brings out the best in body art!

The 20th anniversary of the World Bodypainting Festival just wrapped – and it was another colorful year! Here is the official press release:

“The Festival has been part of the local festival scene for 20 years now and is the biggest art and music festival of Carinthia, the southernmost federal state of Austria. 2017 was the first year in our new location – Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. The regional capital with its historical city center, theatre and galleries is just the perfect location for the festival and its visitors, to enjoy an exciting festival week with a colourful potpourri of captivating bodypainting art and the delicious delicacies of the Street Food Market beside multiple musical top acts.”

So, art and food – count me in!

Artistic Expression Unleashed!

I love these beautiful works of art, using the human body as a canvas. While there are some pictures online that are a bit more provocative, I think these are tasteful and showcase the true spirit of the event…

You can find the winning art online at the website, and if you want to see more, I took a look at the competition a couple of years ago as well:

You can see more from that event here:

Bravo to the Artists involved!
