My son Jeff sent me the link to a hilarious “Taxi Driver” parody – modernized for an iPhone world…
First, “Taxi Driver” is one of the most brilliant films ever made:
Travis Bickle: The days go on and on… they don’t end. All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don’t believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention, I believe that one should become a person like other people.
Robert DeNiro is Travis Bickle, a mentally unstable Vietnam war veteran who works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City. The perceived decadence and sleaze of the city in the 70’s feeds his urge to violently lash out, attempting to save a teenage prostitute in the process. Martin Scorsese directed this brilliant look at mental illness, violence, and redemption.
“You Talkin’ To ME?”
In this classic scene, Travis Bickle is looking into a mirror at himself, imagining a confrontation which would give him a chance to draw his gun.
Recent events have made this scene even more chilling…but in a novel twist, someone decided to turn “Taxi Driver” on its head – turning Japanese!
Japanese Guy’s iPhone Quick-Draw System!
