Hail To The Chief and The First Family!

Alex and I were lucky enough to be at President Obama’s re-election party in Chicago…our friend Kareen was with us…here are some pictures from inside the event…as more than ten thousand people packed the McCormack Center in Chicago on election night!

Our Golden Ticket!

First of all, here was our golden ticket for admission: our “honored guest” pass that allowed us to be right up front, less than 30 feet form the stage!

First, we had to navigate a huge crowd pouring into McCormack Center in Chicago…very orderly and festive, and we got in pretty quickly after going through a quick security checkpoint…we still had time to pose for some pictures under the President’s slogan:

Once inside, we had a great view of the stage…the stage less than 30 feet away…note the President’s podium in the upper left of the picture below as Alex and Kareen wave…

Here we are posing right before the election results come in and President Obama is re-elected…

Then, to much fanfare and a crazy, happy crowd, Obama comes on stage with his family…

The President Speaks!

It was exhilarating to listen to Obama speak to us, and to the country, about his vision for cooperation and compromise to keep America moving forward…

I loved that we had a view from the floor, even if my iphone was having a hard time getting me a great shot…

Capturing The Moment!

As much as the President inspired us with his speech, I also remembered to get a shot of Alex and Kareen with Obama behind them…just to make sure we could prove we were there!

And then Alex got a shot of me, but we were so packed into the place, I couldn’t change spots with her, so this was the view of the other direction…me looking on…

Alex On ABC!

And ABC News captured Alex watching the speech..there she is in the upper left side of the screen!

As you can see, it was a huge crowd packed in to listen to the President speak…

I also got a shot of Alex listening to the President’s speech…

Cue The Confetti!

After the President’s impassioned speech, the confetti rained down and Biden, his family and the President’s family all took the stage to thunderous applause…

Alex and Kareen grabbed handfuls of confetti while the crowd roared its approval…

Then Obama and Biden embraced and waved to the crowd….

So we cheered, and waved, and took lots and lots of pictures of our night….

Congratulations, President Obama and Vice President Biden!
