A Terrific Singer / Songwriter Has New Music To Share!
If you don’t know Josh Rouse, that’s understandable – as one Critic wrote:
“Like a baseball player who quietly hits 30 home runs every year or a golfer who regularly finishes in the Top Ten, Josh Rouse‘s continued streak of excellence is easy to ignore and maybe even downplay a little” — Tim Sendra, Allmusic.com.
Rouse deserves much more exposure, and I’m happy to say a new album will help do just that! “Museums And Women” was released last week, and I’ve got two of the songs to share!
Here’s the video for the first single “January Sky” with his signature vocal stylings:
Vintage, classic Josh Rouse – and if you need an other example, here is what for me is another big hit single from the album:
“Spring” by Josh Rouse
He’s a beautiful songwriter, with a voice that is velvety smooth and soothing…check out the gorgeous new single “Spring”:
Both songs are part of a great new album out now!

The new album, “Museums And Women” dropped on October 23rd – I bought the autographed vinyl and love it!
Now, here’s some more of this Artist’s greatest work:
“Songwriting for me is something I have to do to stay on the sunny side of life. It’s my therapy.”
If you haven’t heard the beautiful music of Singer/Songwriter Josh Rouse, then you are missing a treat! My former co-worker, Blair Butler told me about this terrific singer, and once I began to listen, I was hooked!
Rouse has released a series of classic albums – here is a short snippet of Rouse’s bio, courtesy of his website:
“It may have been 15+ years – from roots in rural Nebraska, through time in ‘Music City’ Nashville, TN, and to the current day relocated to a new home in cosmopolitan Spain – but it seems that the song spirits have been constant companions for Josh Rouse.
Here’s an example of his terrific artistry – “Julie (Come Out Of The Rain)”:
That is a beautiful song, just another in a career full of them. His music is mellow and heartfelt, and in many ways feels effortless – just catchy melodies and terrific musicianship.
Here is one of his most famous songs, a gorgeous ode to love – from his brilliant album called “1972”:
Listen to the gorgeous “Love Vibration”:
Rouse has released a number of acclaimed albums, and his music has been used in many movies as well. Interestingly, the singer moved to Valencia, Spain with his wife and kids, and now records music there in a home studio. Here is a beautiful song that speaks to this change in his life:
Quiet Town:
“Ooh, sometimes I miss the show
I learned a long time ago…”
I hope you listen to his music and support him – he is a great Artist who deserves more acclaim!
Here is rouse performing his song “Winter In The Hamptons” live in a club in Spain…

I am always looking out for new music, and when my wife had this Icelandic Artist on her show twice, I was hooked:

Laufey is the stage name of Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir OTF, an Icelandic singer-songwriter who blends jazz pop and classical music. Her sultry vocals and genre-bending style have won her a devoted fanbase, the Lauvers. At age 15, Laufey joined the Iceland Symphony Orchestra as a cello soloist. She has won two Grammys, including Best Traditional Pop Album, and her album A Matter of Time debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200.
Check out this beautiful song “Lover Girl:
More on this incredibly talented Artist soon….I also want to remind you that I am doing a series of stories on unique album covers, like this one:

I’ve heard very little by him, so I’m grateful for this introduction. Very pleasant music. If you’re doing more on Laufey can I recommend her collaboration with Jacob Collier and Dodie on Wild Mountain Thyme – it’s amazing!

I hadn’t heard of either, so I played all the videos. As for Josh, I preferred his earlier stuff. I would call him ‘innofensive and obviously talented’, but wouldn’t buy his records. Laufey on the other hand, she has an amazing jazz vibe, like a European Astrud Gilberto. I am going to be listening to a lot more of that Icelandic talent! Shared on Twitter.
Best wishes, Pete.
