Purple Witches And Killer Clowns! New York’s Wildest Halloween Decorations!

I’m sure every town and city in America has a block or two where Halloween decor takes over…but I have been very impressed with how New York celebrates: like this!

I mean…THIS IS BRILLIANT.

From the caged doll to the ax-wielding Clown, and all that is in between, this is beautifully realized! And these decorations are everywhere around town!

As you can see, brownstone buildings are perfect for decorating: you have a staircase in front, and lots of balconies above to share wicked decor like this:

Skeletons factor in of course, and I love the fact that you can let you imagination just run away with you!

Here’s another one I came across that I loved:

And you’ll find Jack Skellington as well, that striped tuxedo topped creature from the Tim Burton film “The Nightmare Before Christmas:”

I really enjoy the “Skeletons holding up other Skeletons” vibe here!

I was walking along the upper east side yesterday, around 74th and Madison Avenue, when I came across this:

I love Halloween costumes as well…especially those that celebrate food:

Sure, go with that special person as a “peanut butter and jelly” combo, or if you want to celebrate one of the greatest horror films of all time, what about this?

If you’ve seen the classic shocker “Carrie”, you know just how perfect this is!

That films was the “C” in my “Horror A – Z” list..click here to see why!

If you are in New York on the 30th, why not join this aquatic pumpkin party?

See this cool watery celebration of Halloween here!

And if you want to shock your “trick or treaters” why not serve these?

I’ve got some of the best, and most disgusting Halloween food here!

And really welcome people to your house with this Pennywise doormat?

I love this! See more here!

  1. These were terrific Halloween decorations, John. Skeletons have been popular for the last few years. In our neck of the woods, horse skeletons are popular. I love the bags on the steps.

  3. The witches and skeletons look amazing. I will be dressing up as a witch and giving out sweets to the children. I am reminded I need to buy a pumpkin when we return home

  7. Those New Yorkers really go the extra mile (and expense) to celebrate the season. I fear that if houses in Central London did that, many of the decorations would be stolen or vandalised.

    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Pete, I found your comment in spam and restored…considering that you are a regular commentator – which is much appreciated – it’s strange that WordPress would have done that…oh well – on one of the displays there is a small sign warning people not to even THINK about taking anything as they are being surveilled!
