Welcome To Roussillon’s “Red Rocks!”
In a world with nothing but bad news and screaming headlines, I just want to get away. One of the best things about travel is finding new unexpected places to explore and escape into, like this gorgeous hiking trail outside the small town of Roussillon France!

I found this picture online with no Photographer listed – but they certainly captured the charm of the town as well as the incredible surrounding!
Roussillon is a commune in the Vaucluse department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in Southeastern France. Roussillon lies within the borders of the Natural Regional Park of Luberon, and you can quickly find yourself here:

You can hike almost 5 miles around this area in a nice trail with some hills, but also easy to loop around…and here is what you see:

You end up surrounded by greenery and pointed red rocks, which tower above you with unique shapes like this!

These are so cool to see, and to video as well – take a look:
We had a terrific time here – there is so much to explore in the area!
This hike reminded me of the “red rocks” of Sedona Arizona:

They offer the same sort of majestic beauty as well,, like this one:

This spiritual area of Arizona draws people all year long to “the vortex” – see more pics, video and more here:
And Sedona looks amazingly similar to this:

Yes, Skaros rock on Santorini in Greece is so impressive that Models take photos in front of it!
See more about this incredible caldera fortress – which we climbed!
Finally, I always talk about climbing UP something – but what about when I claimed DOWN – into this?

Yes, the Grand Canyon is indeed “GRAND!”
And I hiked down into a bit of it…here’s a peek:

What a wonderful place to live! Of course, a bit “toasty” in summer! Thanks for the comment, always great to hear from you!

All three places look amazing. I’ve often thought of visiting the Grand Canyon.

It’s really impossible to capture the grandeur of the Grand Canyon – truly a wonder of the world…it’s around 200 miles long east to west! 2 miles across from north to south…it’s worth it because so much more to see in that part of the US as well!

Wow, didn’t realise it was 200 miles long!

The canyon goes west to east and to drive from the south side to the north side is 220 miles!

Oh, methinks we all need to get away at the moment – every morning news narrates a story worse than the most horrid Grimm’s ‘fairy tale’! Have been to Provence but not to this beautiful area – wish I was there now . . .

Thank you! Trying to write about stuff that more escapist, because if I posted about what’s happening financially right now….

Oh, I’ve been fighting the urge to look at what the market has done. It’s not going to be pretty. And frankly if he continues like this, it’s not going to be pretty for a while. I saw some mention of bear market and the dreaded R word. He keeps it up, it will be worse. Kind of sad.

It is. There are ways to address these issues that don’t have to have such a negative shock to the country…and prices will be soaring, exactly opposite of what he promised when running for President

I just checked the news, the market saw the sharpest one-day decline since the pandemic in March 2020, wiping out $3.1 trillion in market value. Yea, I’d say the tariffs are having an effect. Just not the one they wanted. Ugh.

And there are many people who are not prepared for the higher prices that are coming, the layoffs already underway, and the soon-to-be-enacted cuts in services and payments…it’s going to get worse than people imagine.

Yes, it’s going to get ugly. And quick.

I have been to France many times, but never saw those red rocks. Really interesting, John.
