Welcome To The Millbrook Inn!
My wife Alex and I love to travel, and when our close friend Yvette Fromer opened this gorgeous Inn, we knew we’d have to visit!
And after all of her hard work, The Millbrook Inn has been nominated for Travel & Leisure’s Top 100 list for 2025!
As her terrific website notes:
“In a building over 100 years old, set on a country road dotted with lush farmland and grazing horses, you will find The Millbrook Inn: our serene retreat located in the heart of the Hudson Valley.”

The Hudson Valley is famous for its natural beauty – a perfect escape from the fast-paced world.
Yvette purchased the property in 2019 and spent two years renovating the nine guest suites and expanding the Inn.

Stay In “The Henry!”
Here’s a look at “The Henry”, also known as room #8, a beautiful room that is not only luxurious but comfortable as well!

The Millbrook Inn is located in New York’s famous Hudson Valley, an historic farming community, with beautiful dairy, produce, and cattle farms dotting the countryside.
As the Inn describes the area:
“It’s a celebrated equestrian community, with deep-rooted annual events that draw people from around the world. It has a vibrant arts scene and revived crafts industry. It is filled with vineyards, breweries, distilleries, and has a thriving farm-to-table food scene. The Millbrook Inn is the perfect place to call home while you enjoy all this rich valley has to offer you.”
It’s so much more than an amazing place to sleep – how about the food? Check out this breakfast dish!

Now that’s a stack of pancakes!
It’s terrific that you can explore the Hudson Valley all day then return for a meal at the Inn.

And Yvette knows what I love: she has a burger night as well!

The Millbrook Inn Burger!
Now, let’s get to the food! Local ingredients show up in all of the dishes, like their incredible burger – stuffed with all local ingredients…stacked high with perfect symmetry.
Every dish that comes out of the kitchen offers terrific flavors with a local touch:

This is local Salmon Trout Tartar – the dishes are works of culinary art, and you can now vote to give the Millbrook Inn the award it deserves!

The Millbrook Inn has been nominated for Travel & Leisure’s Top 100 list for 2025 – and you can support Yvette by casting your vote now!
You only have to choose the “US”, “NY”, and “Hotels” as travel destinations and catagories if you only want to rate the hotel. But have some fun and take part in the entire survey, they will appreciate it – Travel & Leisure is a terrific magazine and website filled with great articles and travel tips year round!

Bravo Yvette! Bravo Millbrook Inn!

Alex and I had a great time there, beginning with this delicious libation to welcome us:

How about this combo: carrot juice, orange juice, tequila and cardamom syrup! It’s called the #7 because room seven is rabbit themed!
Finally, one more delicious reason to visit:

“3 Beet Pasta With Lemon Ricotta!”
We cannot wait to try all of the dishes on the menu, and to relax and enjoy the Inn as well!

I’ve never been to the Hudson Valley, but The Millbrook Inn newsletter shows you all of the terrific events going on in the region and they are so tempting! You can sign up for their newsletter and get all the info on upcoming events by clicking here:

What’s also really cool is that US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s house is nearby!

I also love that it’s just a few hours from one of the greatest cities in the world:

I love New York, especially when I can walk 196 blocks through it!

One day I also hiked across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge:

I did a series of “Hitch Hiking” stories, where I went on a fun hike and then watched an Alfred Hitchcock movie – click here to see my journey across the Brooklyn bridge and the film that followed:

Very cool, John. The next time you’re in New England, you might consider staying at The Groton Inn. It’s located in Groton, MA., a charming town (also the home of teacher Jennie Fitzkee). If you’re into Revolutionary War history, Lexington and Concord are nearby. https://thegrotoninn.com/

I clicked on the link to vote, but I saw you have to be a legal resident of the United States to do so. I hope they win!
Best wishes, Pete.
