Sak’s Cancels Christmas – Well, Lights That Is! Here’s Video Of What Has Shockingly Gone Away For 2024…

Sak’s Stuns the World – NO CHRISTMAS LIGHTS?!?!?!?!

Lovers of “all things Christmas” were stunned this morning by this news: the New York store Saks Fifth Avenue says the flagship store on 5th avenue, across from the iconic 30 Rockefeller Center, will not be hosting its annual holiday light show this year!

According to a statement, a spokesperson said the light show will not happen due to “changes in its approach to the holiday windows” for the flagship’s 100th anniversary.

Well, as you can see above, this holiday display was incredible – 7 stories high and look at this video:

The company did say that their traditional “holiday window displays” will still be on display later this month.

“In our 100th year, which also marks the anniversary of the flagship, we are celebrating the season by honoring the architectural significance of this iconic building, elegantly illuminating the facade and framing the holiday windows, as well as highlighting the fashion for which Saks Fifth Avenue is known. Saks’ holiday windows will be on display starting in late November,” the statement said in part.

Here’s another look at what will be missing this holiday season:

Very sad news…but right across the street you will still see this:

30 Rock’s Christmas Tree Will Be Back!

This is the annual holiday tree that will be lit for 2024 in the next two weeks…it will be there and you will magic like this:

It’s so magical!

While you are in New York, try to see some of the fall foliage as it changes color in Central Park:

I also shared this story of an incredible sight I came across after a big rainstorm in Central Park – again, in Central Park!

This is water from “The Lake” in Central Park!

And of course, the lake is where I come across these guys:

The lake is full of Turtles – hungry ones!

  1. It looks like you have wonderful Christmas decorations in New York. Your foliage is certainly very vivid during autumn.

  2. What a shame, and a poor decision. Here in Massachusetts, we are ecstatic that one of our trees will be in Rockefeller Center! It’s been over six decades.

  6. I suppose it had to happen eventually. Perhaps they can claim some ‘green credentials’ for using less electricity? But it says they are going to illuminate the store to feature the architecture, so I feel they could do both.

    Best wishes, Pete.
