Vincent Price Kicks Off “Shocktober 2024” With “The Monster Mash”!
I love Vincent Price. He was a legendary Actor, an avid Art collector and Art expert, and also a great Chef who wrote cookbooks – and he sang too!
All month long I will be sharing great horror films, scary destinations and disgusting Halloween trick and treats, and what better way to kick off “Shocktober 2024” than with the iconic Horror Actor grooving to one of Halloween’s best tunes: “The Monster Mash!”

That’s right, this is a classic Halloween moment I had to share!
This clip shows Vincent Price and his fiends, including fellow horror icon John Carradine, as they perform “The Monster Mash” in 1981’s cult movie “The Monster Club!”

How can you not love the idea of Vincent Price performing an iconic Halloween song – with dancers!
Enjoy!

What I love about that clip is the song begins after the Actor performs a minute-and-a-half long monologue without a cut! This fascinating soliloquy by Price is all about the monsters he calls “Humes”!
As in, you know, HUMANS.

As the month of October is all about celebrating scary movies, Price starred in some of the best horror films of our time…like this classic from 1959:

Check out the original movie trailer, which is hosted by the Actor:
Price began his career as a character Actor before becoming a horror film Icon in films like “The Abominable Dr. Phibes”, “Tales Of Terror”, “The Haunted Palace”, and “Theater Of Blood!”

Yes, that’s the legendary Diana Rigg next to him – dressed as a man to hide her identify from those that she and Price have deliciously evil plans for – she said it was the most fun she ever had making a movie! Click here to see the trailer and find out why this film is perfect for fans of food and horror!
Diana Rigg was such an incredible Actress – for those who don’t know, she was the first ever “Mrs. James Bond” in what many consider the greatest 007 film ever – she died a few years ago, but you can see her credits and hilarious Bond stories here:
Of course, Vincent Price was one of the greatest “horror Icons” of all time – but so much more as well!
If you want to know more about Vincent Price’s life, and you should because it is fascinating, here is how to do it:

His daughter wrote a compelling and insightful biography of her father that is loving but candid – click here to see more about it:
In fact, Vincent Price was a lover of art, travel and food, and I cooked from one of his many cookbooks!

The song is great, but the monologue is pure brilliance.

Yes, based on reading his daughter’s memoir about him, we would have loved to have been able to hang out with him!

He was so much more of a well-round person.

In the 60’s he was the Art Curator for Sears Roebuck – the largest seller of art in America! What a life he lived – his bio is great
