New York’s Cherry Blossoms Are Here! Central Park Shows Off Again!

I’m Hanging Out With The Cherry Blossoms!

It’s the time of year when New York’s Central Park comes alive with cherry blossoms – and in a park that is 850+ acres big, there are plenty!

I found a few pictures online like this that showcase how beautiful the trees are int he park right now:

As you can see, some of the trees are so massive you can literally walk under the branches – and so I did! Take a look:

People are gathering around these trees to capture their beauty – now, full disclosure: is this tree an actual cherry blossom tree?

We’re not sure – but who cares, it’s amazing!

If you are coming to New York soon, you must walk through the park to capture the natural beauty – and perhaps stop by a castle as well!

Yes, Central Park has a castle – click here to see it up close and learn about its history as well:

The view of Belvedere Castle from the other side of what they call “Turtle Pond” is truly stunning, and serene as well, like all of the park.

Now, about all those turtles in Central Park:

Not only are the lakes filled with them, they like to be petted as well!

Check out this adorable video:

See that video and more about the Turtles of Central Park here:

I will be exploring more of this incredible oasis as well – but remember the time I was in New York and got my “walk on?”

196 blocks to be exact!

It was all part of my “Hitch Hiking” series, where take a fun hike and tie it in to a Hitchcock classic – in this case “Rear Window!”

See it all here!

  2. I adore cherry blossoms, and it’s on my bucket list to see the ones in Central Park! I am very fortunate to have access to some in a local botanical garden, but nothing quite as spectacular as this!

  3. The blossom flowered early around here, and died off very quickly. That’s a great display in CP, John.

    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. You reminded me of one of my first experiences in NYC years ago. My wife (then fiancé) were visiting friends and we mistakenly mentioned that we’d walk through the park to wherever they were. I just assumed it would be a short walk. I failed to realize how huge Central Park really is. We went walking and walking and walking. As soon as we found our friends, they started laughing at us, calling us NYC newbies. We deserved it. Beautiful shots, love cherry blossoms, whether in DC or NYC.

  7. The cherry blossom looks beautiful! We have a Belvedere here in Kent, England, but there’s no castle, lol.
