New York’s Got Snow! Here’s Video Of Central Park’s New White Coat!

New York Finally Gets Some Snow!

This was Central Park yesterday, as the first real snowfall of the year arrived in New York City!

New York State has seen a lot of snow north of The Big Apple, but in the city it’s been a fairly mild winter so far, with some big rainstorms but no snow…until now!

I took a walk in the middle of the snowfall, but even though there was a steady 6+ hours of snowfall that dumped more than 4 inches of snow, Central Park kept the major paths clear!

It was a cold morning but not freezing, so the snow stuck to the lawn but not the walkways.

My wife Alex bought me a rainproof jacket just for this possibility, so I wore I proudly into the park to get some shots – and came across a number of people with sleds and kids in tow as well…because there are plenty of places in the park to create your own slide!

It was just a fun way to enjoy the snow – here is a video that captured some of it:

After taking a short walk in the park, I headed back inside, just as the snow began to come down even harder – here’s a look in the park and what I captured of the snow fall from our apartment.

I am having fun making videos now, and put together a look at Central Park from inside and the snowfall across the street from us as the snow came down – enjoy!

There is so much to see in Central Park, snow or no snow – like checking out the Castle inside the park:

Yes, Central Park is home to Belvedere Castle, and if you want to know more about it, just click on my story here:

I love to walk through the park – in fact, the entire city is an amazing place to “get your steps in!”

This is “the great lawn”, and I walked past it and much more more, all as part of my “Hitch Hiking” experience, where I hike and review a classic Alfred Hitchcock film…see the film based in that inspired me that day:

I love sharing these “hitch hiking” stories: here are the first three, beginning with this hike:

Check out the view from Will Rogers State Park near Malibu by clicking here:

If you want a different kind of “Hitchcock” hike, maybe you want to try this:

We hiked near the location of Hitchcock’s classic “The Birds” – see more here:

  3. Central Park is amazing throughout the year, but something else in a new fallen snow. I’ve been fortunate in years past to be there after a recent snow and it’s such an interesting site, the park inside of a huge city. Love the snow, but I think I’m done. I guess I’m like the groundhog . . . ready for winter to pass and give over to spring!

  5. Wow, it’s been quite a mild winter here in East Anglia so far. We haven’t had any snow, and it was 10 degrees as I drove home from the swimming pool this afternoon.

No snow in Beetley so far this winter, I hope it stays that way.
