New York Finally Gets Some Snow!

This was Central Park yesterday, as the first real snowfall of the year arrived in New York City!

New York State has seen a lot of snow north of The Big Apple, but in the city it’s been a fairly mild winter so far, with some big rainstorms but no snow…until now!

I took a walk in the middle of the snowfall, but even though there was a steady 6+ hours of snowfall that dumped more than 4 inches of snow, Central Park kept the major paths clear!

It was a cold morning but not freezing, so the snow stuck to the lawn but not the walkways.

My wife Alex bought me a rainproof jacket just for this possibility, so I wore I proudly into the park to get some shots – and came across a number of people with sleds and kids in tow as well…because there are plenty of places in the park to create your own slide!

It was just a fun way to enjoy the snow – here is a video that captured some of it:

After taking a short walk in the park, I headed back inside, just as the snow began to come down even harder – here’s a look in the park and what I captured of the snow fall from our apartment.

I am having fun making videos now, and put together a look at Central Park from inside and the snowfall across the street from us as the snow came down – enjoy!

I love to walk through the park – in fact, the entire city is an amazing place to “get your steps in!”
