“Sometimes you just got to do things by yourself.”Ritu Bhathal
That line from Author Ritu Bhathal is for a good reason – you see, she took over her own blog to promote her new novel – and I am doing the same on her behalf on mine!
Here’s what Ritu had to say:
“Sorry for hijacking your post today, Spidey, but I have been rather lax recently, but there is the small matter of my new release happening on THURSDAY!”
“OMG, Peeps!“
This are her words not mine, but I can understand Ritu’s excitement: you see, her new novel is released on THURSDAY!!!
Ritu has every reason to be excited….and I’m so happy for her, because the name of the book taught me something!
First, about that title:
I love the book’s cover art, but of course I needed to know one thing:
“What Is A Jalebi?”
Well, it turns out that as a foodie I should have known: a “Jalebi” is a commonly found sweetmeat in Pakistan, an internationally recognized dessert. These deep-fried sweet rings are made from dough dipped in a sweet sugary syrup and fried to perfection.
Sounds delicious to me!
And great news for Ritu’s fans! You can pre-order the Ebook for only 99p!
More good news: Ritu has been informed the paperback should be available 10 days to 2 weeks later!!
She also shared a few advance good words on the novel:
“This is a delightful male-male sweet romance. Sunny is just adorable and Milan is the perfect guy for him! I raced through this book in one highly enjoyable weekend. “Bestselling author Jeevani Charika
About the book:
Who knew that an innocent trip to India in the year 2000 would have such an impact on his life?
Sunny had only gone as a chaperone for his sister and her best friend and to attend to a few business matters.
He’d ended up with a deal that would change the shape of his professional future and possibly his personal one, too.
Battling the pressures of marriage by his family isn’t Sunny’s only fight, as he finds his feelings for a certain ‘friend’ may be more than just friendship.
But how can he tell anyone how he truly feels? Because the road to love isn’t always straight…
Ritu Bhathal is a fresh, new, and much-needed voice for British Asian fiction.
“Straight As a Jalebi” is Book 2 in the Rishtay Series, following the Gill family in the new millennium.
Here’s a link to pre-order, and I just did!

While you are there, why not order her first novel if you don’t already own it?
I shared a review of Ritu’s first novel, and you can see it here!
I leave you with one more note from Ritu:
So, Peeps, have you pre-ordered yet? 😊
Bravo Ritu!

I love the cover and the title. I pre-ordered the book some time ago and can’t wait to read it. The jalebi looks a bit like the churros we enjoy here in Spain.
