Welcome To New York’s Magical Central Park!

I mean, look at this view! I am shooting toward the west side of New York, from Central Park, where New Yorkers and tourists alike flock during the hot summer months to enjoy this magical oasis in the middle of the Big Apple…

I love to walk around the lake that is home to “The Boathouse” and the iconic Bethesda Fountain as well….

The central fountain has a sculpture called “The Angel Of The Waters”: Bethesda Fountain sits at the southern edge of a small lake, where boaters can rent rowboats and leisurely float along with the city looming overhead…

Now, about the lake and the fountain…the “Angel” in the fountain draws lots of visitors, and buskers perform all over the park, and adds a nice lyrical touch to the scenery…

Oh, the location draws some other unique visitors as well…

Central Park’s Turtles!

Yes, the lake is absolutely brimming with Turtles…don’t believe me? Here’s proof:

It’s wild to see them all swimming up to the edge of the lake – in fact, some even like to be petted!

Check out this very happy child and curious Turtles as they meet:

It’ helped that the little girl’s Mom had sprinkled a few breadcrumbs into the lake, but even without that prompting, Central Park’s Turtles are EVERYWHERE:

Around on the north side of the lake, they were also hanging out, and I even caught a small group of three Turtles eyeing me warily…

Alex and I were amazed by the proliferation of “skinny skyscrapers” that rise high above the park…see more on them here:

Of course, with all of the hiking and walking around, we had to have some food:

And that meant oyster shooters and shots!

This is the massive Pastrami sandwich from Katz’s Deli, where they filmed THAT scene from “When Harry Met Sally!”
