The Hollywood Sign Becomes The “RAMSHOUSE”? Check Out This Wacky Super Bowl Makeover!

The L.A. Rams Are Super Bowl Champs!

Last week, it was football’s biggest day – and it was a thriller to be sure!

Los Angeles made a dramatic comeback in the 4th quarter to beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI!

Bravo to both teams for an exciting game, played in the Rams home stadium….so what to do to celebrate?

Well, along with a huge victory parade a few days later, someone decided to make a change to one of the city’s most iconic sights – the Hollywood sign!

Alex and I flipped for it – literally – when we hiked it a few months ago – but would we ever touch those iconic letters? Of course not! However, someone else did!

As the terrific L.A. Times Real Estate newsletter pointed out, an idea to celebrate the Rams may have been unwise!

After the game, it was decided to honor the team, and that began a dramatic remodel of the famous Hollywood sign.

Here’s how it was described by the times:

“A quick shout-out to the Rams, who made housing news by winning the Super Bowl and turning all of L.A. into “RAMS HOUSE” — or “HAMSHOOSE,” or maybe “RAMSYWUSE.”

Yes, this is what it looked like when the makeover was complete!

The L.A. times had some fun with what we all saw!

What they referred to as a “laughable Hollywood makeover” finished with this line;

“A good idea poorly executed is a bad idea.”

What do you think? Was it the best use of their time?

Or should they have left well enough alone:

This is how it normally looks, and here’s what the entire LA basin looks like from behind it:

My wife Alex took me on a hike to the top of the sign for my birthday week – and it is truly spectacular!

  1. They should have left well alone…Tacky to say the least as you say a good idea poorly executed…a plane dragging the names in balloons across the sky would have been far better but of course more expensive 🙂 x

  2. Hi John, I think this is a fun idea. It is only temporary and it worked.

  5. I can understand the excitement that the local team won, but what they did with the sign was truly awful.
    Best wishes, Pete.
