WOW! “ELVIS” Has Entered The Building! The Incredible New Movie Trailer Is Here! Tom Hanks IS Col. Tom Parker!

Elvis WAS “The King!”

One of the most iconic performers of all time. A tragic early death. The story of Elvis Presley has been told from a number of different angles, but now a new film will tell it through the eyes of the man who discovered him – and was probably the cause of his downfall as well!

Warner Bros. Pictures just released the first trailer for Oscar-nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s drama Elvis, starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks, which is set for release on June 24.

Tom Hanks portrays Col. Tom Parker, the controversial Manager who oversaw every aspect of Elvis’s career – check out the trailer to see a virtually unrecognizable Hanks:

The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker.  The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America.

I cannot wait to see this, because it’s directed by the same person who created one of the most imaginative, exhilarating movie musicals of all time – visionary Director Baz Luhrmann!

“Moulin Rouge”

Nicole Kidman and Ewan MacGregor star as ill-fated lovers who meet at the legendary Moulin Rouge theater in Paris – here is the trailer:

“Moulin Rouge” is, without a doubt, one of the most creative films ever released.

The dance numbers are amazing – the camera never stops, and the cast has so much energy – also, Luhrmann used a unique blend of modern and classic music for the soundtrack, and the dance numbers – so get ready for a mashup of “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit!”

I just re-watched this recently with my wife and it holds up as fresh as when we first saw it.

The trailer for “ELVIS” shows that Bad is going to deliver again – and it also reminds me of two things I love about Elvis:

Yes, he loved a “Peanut Butter, Banana and Bacon Sandwich” – one of the wildest mashups imaginable!

Here’s how to make one!

Another thing I loved about Elvis is that he made a movie in my hometown!

“It Happened At The World’s Fair” captured Seattle at a groundbreaking time – click here to see why:

  2. I just saw the trailer for it yesterday night and as a huge Elvis fan growing up, I really want to see it. I was initially a little bit unsure about the actor playing him but when I saw him as the black leather clad 68 special Elvis, I was sold, haha!

  4. John, I have a controversial opinion about Baz’s film of Moulin Rouge. I HATE IT!
They will have to do well with this new Elvis film to beat Kurt Russel’s convincing performance in the 1979 film of Presley’s life. I have a suspicion I would rather watch Kurt again. I am totally ‘re-maked out’. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.
