LA’s “Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch” Is Back! Check Out This Wild Halloween Treat!

Welcome To LA’s Most Iconic Pumpkin Patch – Mr. Bones!

Yes, Mr. Bones is one of the best things about Halloween in Los Angeles – because this is more than a pumpkin patch – it’s an entertainment venue!

Welcome To Pumpkin Village!

Yes, there is a legendary pumpkin patch in the Culver City area of Los Angeles that is so much more than just a pumpkin patch!

It sits in the shadow of LA’s oil pumps, which hover above us…

Here how the Mr. Bones website describes their mission:

“Founded in 1987, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned and operated business that focuses on bringing the farm to the city and celebrating the magic of Halloween. Becky and David Campbell, drawing inspiration from their farm in Silverton, Oregon, originally opened the patch in Westwood when they realized how few opportunities there were for Los Angeles-area children to experience farm life at an urban pumpkin patch. Mr. Bones focused on creating a spooky, fun space for families wherein kids could learn more about nature and the environment while celebrating the more traditional side of Halloween.”

And they celebrate with face painting, pumpkin carving, interactive attractions and pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins!

Don’t Play Catch With The Pumpkins!

Did you notice some of the signs? Yes, there are instructions about how to treat these pumpkins that are lined up for inspection – Alex captured that on her Instagram:

It’s A Non-Stop Pumpkin Photo Op!

There are pumpkins everywhere, as well as pumpkin houses, where people pose for pictures all day:

Mr. Bones is always packed, but well run, perhaps that is why so many celebrities are spotted there as well – most recently Beyonce and Jay-Z…and you can pay $10 to park yourself, or $15 to valet your car…yes, it’s a pumpkin patch with valet service!

Yes, it also costs money to enter – but that’s OK, because it offers up a lot of great pumpkin entertainment!

Of course, the main reason to stop at Mr. Bones is to get some pumpkins, and they give you a cart to haul your pumpkins around, as you can see here, as Alex documented her haul:

Mr. Bones does a great job, and is a lot of fun to visit.

Check out the website here – full of great pictures and information about the greatest pumpkin patch in LA!

Let me know if you’ve gone pumpkin shopping yet!

Of course, if you want to really celebrate the season, why not make this?

  7. Looks like a fun place. In Canada we always went to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin to decorate. Miss that.

  8. As you know, Halloween leaves me cold. But I do enjoy your seasonal features. Not sure I would part with $15 for the privilege of spending money buying pumpkins though. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.
