Keala Settle Performs “This Is Me” Live At The Hollywood Bowl!
As you saw me post yesterday, Hugh Jackman performed live at The Hollywood Bowl on July 19 and 20 – and joining him live on stage was Keala Settle from “The Greatest Showman!”
Settle has performed on Broadway for years – she originated the role of Norma Valverde in “Hands on a Hardbody” in 2013, and was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk Award, and Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
In 2017, she portrayed Lettie Lutz, a bearded lady, in “The Greatest Showman.” The song “This Is Me” from the film won the 2018 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
When Jackman’s show came to The Hollywood Bowl, we knew he’d be performing songs from the film – but what a great surprise when he announced that Keala would be coming on stage to sing “This Is Me!”
Here is Settle’s live performance of “This Is Me” at The Hollywood Bowl on July 19, 2019 – introduced by Hugh Jackman!
What a fantastic performance – and what an incredible night of music!
Jackman wowed the crowd with 2+ hours of musical performances – here is my review with clips of him singing “From Now On” – AND his hilarious comments about Ryan Reynolds!
Bravo to Keala for the incredible live performance!

I’m seeing his show In October. I’m so excited; and if Keala showed up at that show, it would be heavenly! Glad you got to experience!

Yes, I was lucky it was in Hollywood – but even if NO ONE else is there, he has a large cast with him and I guarantee there is a song that involves help – and I bet he has a local organization spotlighted in it!

Yes, the Bowl isn’t good for filming with an iPhone, but the wide shot captures the excitement of the performance, and the audience is great so there’s that!

Thanks for commenting! The entire night was magical – Hugh Jackman is such an incredible performer, but also self-deprecating, fun and interactive…so much good stuff!

It’s fascinating to me how a single film can literally catapult someone’s career in such a big way – can’t wait to see what’s next for her!

I had a starter of Tempura Chorizo with paprika mayonnaise and salad. The main course was tender roasted belly pork with potato rosti, vegetables, and pork skin crackling. Home made apple sauce too! 🙂

Great song and a wonderful singer! So glad you captured the dancers, too!

Thanks, as you can see I had to keep it a wide shot because the lights at the Bowl are NOT conducive to iPhone video!

Thank you – the wide shot captures the other dancers well, you just have to imagine how good she looks closeup – I was going to grab something off the internet but nothing from the show has posted yet!
