The Tony winner and late-night host offers his own version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein favorite
This was the first time the popular sketch aired in primetime (as part of his third Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special) and therefore, he welcomed a host of CBS stars as guest performers in the troupe.
Oscar winner and Tony nominee Allison Janney and Anna Faris of Mom, Kunal Nayyar of The Big Bang Theory, and Iain Armitage of Young Sheldon took part in the presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.
Watch as Janney and Corden both take on the role of Maria and the cast performs standards as “The Sound of Music,” “My Favorite Things,” “The Lonely Goatheard,” and “Do Re Mi.”

I am in HEAVEN! Although I must note that Allison does look uncomfortably like Theresa May and James like Angela Merkel when giving of their Marias ….. 😟

I love the imaginative stuff they pull off on the show – last winter they had “The Greatest Showman” cast perform a song from he show in the sidewalk outside the show – on Broadway – during rush hour, running into the street while the light is red to perform – it’s amazing!

He has certainly found a home, and real fame, in the US. I liked him in the film ‘The History Boys’, and the popular TV series, ‘Gavin and Stacey’.
