Seattle’s Seals Like To Play With Fish! The Beatles Fished There Too! Edgewater Inn Wildlife!

Welcome To Seattle!

I grew up in Seattle, tucked away in the northwestern-most part of the continental US, and when Mt. Rainier is out, it’s a gorgeous city indeed.

The Space Needle has recently undergone some much-needed restoration, and when you wander down the waterfront at night, the sunsets are spectacular…

The Edgewater Inn sits along the waterfront, and the views are always different based on the time of day…like when I looked out our hotel room window one night and saw a lone windsurfer take on a cruise ship…

Because you are literally over the water, you get some curious visitors as well, like this guy, who seemed a bit TOO interested in me:

So, now to the point of this post – I woke up one morning and heard a bit of splashing outside our window – when I looked down, this seal was looking up at me:

But it turns out he wasn’t looking at me at all – he was watching a huge group of fish appear nearby and begin to swim around him:

I grabbed my phone and managed to capture a bit of it – take a look:

That’s just another reason we love staying here.

Of course, Alex and I aren’t the only ones who have stayed at The Edgewater:

Yes, The Beatles not only stayed there, but they fished from their rooms as well!

See that incredible story here, part of a tribute to Muhammad Ali, shown knocking the fab four out as well:

Let me know if you’ve ever fished out the window of The Edgewater!

  2. I was reminded of a child chasing pigeons. The seal obviously wasn’t too hungry that day.
Looks like a great hotel, John.
    Best wishes, Pete.
