Yes, Corden’s great “carpool karaoke” segment went to Liverpool so legendary Singer/Songwriter and Beatle Paul McCartney could show him where he grew up – singing classic songs the whole time!
The segment is so great! People stop Paul on the street, and he talks and poses with everyone…
The segment includes driving by the real Penny Lane, and then breaking into song of course…and actually going back into the home where he grew up!
Here is the amazing clip:
So much more, including a surprise performance in one of his old pubs…and a sneak peek of a new song as well!
Bravo James Corden! And of course, when you have the incredible musical catalogue of Paul McCartney, how can you go wrong?
Paul has new music on the way as you heard, and here is a great article where he discusses the last Beatles song:
PETE! Stop that! It’s amazing…he returns to his childhood home, surprises a Liverpool pub with a live performance, and shows that he is the nicest person in music….and classic Beatles songs!
I just can’t stand him, John. Not just me, my wife also detests him, and she felt that way before she ever met me. Just something about the man I have never liked, and it has got worse as he got older, and ‘refused to age’. 🙂 Maybe it’s a London/Liverpool thing, but I don’t care much for anyone from that city.
Sorry.
Best wishes, Pete.
It’s funny Pete, I worked with a Northerner recently who was upset Macca had a posh accent now. I was like what are you talking about? So you’re not alone Pete but you’re close to it. 🙂 I loved this segment with Corden, I could see how it was put together and noticed Macca’s bodyguards pushing aside the ‘peasants’ but I think those people in the pub were happy. I rate Corden’s work which is quite an achievement given how much I loved Craig Ferguson’s work when he did The Late Late Show.
John, I can’t even watch the video. Macca’s strange face makes me feel ill! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
