Thousands take over Chicago!
Thousands of anti-Trump protestors shut down Chicago’s Lakeshore Drive on the night after the 2016 Presidential elections…here is some video I just shot:
This is happening all across the country on the night after the US presidential elections. We are seeing reports from Chicago, New York, Seattle, Oakland, and many other cities, with angry voters protesting Trump’s election:
Here is some more video of the thousands and thousands of protestors shutting down Chicago’s Lakeshore Drive…a very loud and raucous protest:
A very tense time across the country right now…

Crazy! Not surprised. Other than FDR, parties can’t make it past two terms. It’s healthy, the pendulum sways left to right and keeps the country relatively in the middle. I thought of ‘Miss Congeniality’ and wished Michael Caine would fly in to fix and soften the thorny edges of Trump.

HA! Yes, history shows that Americans are usually unwilling to keep a single party in power more than two terms…this WAS a change election, regardless of who was voicing that message…thanks for your note!

I watched this on our news last night. It was reported sympathetically, which left me wondering. If Clinton had won, and was facing similar protests and #notmypresident from Trump supporters, would they have been presented in the same light? Somehow, I doubt it. I didn’t care for either of them myself, but that’s the trouble with elections in a democracy, as we found out over here. Your side doesn’t always win. You have to just bite it back, and get on with what happened.
Trump was left looking calm and dignified on the TV news, something I never expected to see.
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, there was an assumption that Trump could NEVER win, and now the outrage is coming from the places where he is toxic. Unfortunately, just as in your Brexit vote, the age of the rest of the country was missed by the media…we are in a volatile time here, but guess what? We’ll push through it
