60377, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Monday May 2, 2011. The mummified remains of former B-list actress and Playboy pinup, Yvette Vickers, has been found in her home in Benedict Canyon by a concerned neighbor. The unrecognizable corpse of the 82-year old Yvette Vickers was discovered by her neighbor, Susan Savage, in an upstairs room of her Westwanda Street home on April 27. Authorities say the condition of her remains suggest that she could have been dead for up to a year. The coroner has suggested it was likely a natural death but the official cause of death has not been determined. As the months passed and her fan mail and utility bills piled up, her body continued to decompose unnoticed, turning the house into a Hollywood-style horror scene. Her neighbor Susan Savage, also an actress, was quoted in the Los Angeles Times, “She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a very independent spirit,” Savage said. “To the end she still got cards and letter from all over the world requesting photos and still wanting to be her friend…..We’ve all been crying about this,” she said. “Nobody should be left alone like that.” Savage came across the horrifying scene last Wednesday after “scaling a hillside, climbing through a broken window, clawing past stacks of clothes, junk mail and letters” only to finally find the former blonde beauty’s corpse next to an unhooked phone and a space heater that was still on. The neglected house was littered with debris, clothing, boxes, with cob webs clinging to the rafters and chandelier and and old wig in pristine condition sitting atop a mannequin head in the corner.
