I was watching musician Daryl Hall’s visit to Todd Rundgren’s Hawaii house – which was memorably captured for an episode of “Live From Daryl’s House”, and it just reinforced what a great creative friendship they have – with some amazing live performances!
More on this live music bonanza in a second, but first, listen to their duet on a classic Todd ballad.
Here is “It Wouldn’t Have Made Any Difference”:
Now, you MUST check out Daryl’s “LFDH.com” website to see all of the great Artists he has on the show, and look for the show in syndication and on select cable networks as well…it’s a celebration of live music, friendship and musical genres – with Artists as disparate as Smokey Robinson and Train all visiting…but of course, I love Todd Rundgren’s two appearances most of all…
Another classic Todd song performed during Hall’s Hawaii visit was “The Last Ride”, and during the intro in the actual show, Daryl asks Todd to be able to sing certain elements of the song that he loves so much!
Here is a clip with Daryl’s gorgeous opening vocals, matched by Todd of course…
Time For Some “Drum Banging!”
Thanks as always to the photographers who captured the images of the musicians performing, and thanks to “LFDH.com” for posting these songs for fans to enjoy…and since they were on Kauai, it made sense for Todd and Daryl to perform a “luau” version of Todd’s cult hit, “Bang On The Drum!”
This was Todd’s second appearance on the show, which normally is filmed at Daryl Hall’s barn/recording studio…that first appearance has a great conversation between the two musical Artists, some fun cooking bits, and of course, great live music! Here is Todd singing his classic “Can We Still Be Friends” with Daryl…seen by more than 1.7 million you tubers so far!
Of course, Hall also performs some of his songs on the show every episode, and here he teams up with Todd for the classic ballad “Wait For Me”:
These two have a long friendship of course, which has played out musically as well:

Also, don’t forget that both Artists have new music out!
Daryl Hall’s Latest Solo CD!
If you haven’t purchased “Laughing Down Crying”, it’s Hall’s latest solo CD, filled with GREAT songs…read all about it and see some music videos by clicking on my story here:
I adore Todd. Really. But I think he should have spent a little time getting ready for the musical performance portion of LFDH-from-Todd’s-House instead of worrying about being the host. I felt a wee bit bad for him during the jam session; he seemed to be running to catch up.
But I still love Todd and always will. It’s nice to know he’s human AND godd.
You can't take the Scotland out of a girl... Reel entertainment reviews and more from that Darlin Husband’s Scottish, square-eyed and film-mad wife living in Finland.
Love LFDH to the moon and back. And the music with Todd……..it just doesn’t get much better…
