McCurrywurst

McCurrywurst Time in Germany!

McDonald’s has long been willing to adapt their fast food to local tastes – and so we must head to a German McDonald’s – that serves curry-flavored bratwurst! Thanks to the great website Burger Business for this…

Apparently, German fast-food eaters are notoriously tough to please – so McDonalds came up with a possible solution in the form of the “McCurrywurst”, a €2.99 ($3.99) mix of pork bratwurst chunks in a spicy tomato sauce accompanied by shaker packs of either mild or sharp curry powder.

Now, I know what you are thinking: “please, make it stop.” But it won’t. In fact, you are going to take your packet of curry powder and spice yourself up some bratwurst RIGHT NOW…

I, for one, didn’t realize that Germans were such big fans of CURRY, but these are, in many ways, just like our McNuggets, and it appears they give you some sort of German roll as well…

What Other Exotic McForeign Dishes Am I Missing?

I am glad you asked! Germany isn’t the only country that demands that McDonald’s find a way to please their local palate…and so it is in France…

McDonalds CroqueMcDo

Here is their exotic take on French fast food: it’s McDonald’s version of the classic French Croque Monsieur sandwich. And yes, they are actually calling it:

The “Croque McDo!”

McDo-Croque-McDo-Packaging

This is apparently very popular in France. The “McDo” is just that: two slices of Emmental cheese and a slice of ham – squashed between toast and pressed in a sandwich maker, creating a gooey, fondue-like ham and cheese. A fast food Croque Monsieur!

Not sure the “McDo” is that catchy a title, but it has a bit more imagination that our next menu item:

The McLobster!

I found this McDonald’s ad for a “McLobster”…I’ve never heard of them – it was apparently a test in Canada…I can understand why this might be a tough sell in a country that has so many Lobsters they literally walk into your house!

It really just looks like a Lobster Roll, and who doesn’t love one of those?

But What If I Don’t Eat Meat?

Good question, but don’t worry: McDonald’s has the answer for you too!

India is the only country in the world where McDonald’s does not serve beef. That means no Big Mac, and no Quarter Pounders…

Introducing The “McCurry Pan!”

In a country with no beef, McDonald’s offers the McCurry Pan, a rectangular-shaped crust topped with curry, broccoli, baby corn, mushrooms and bell peppers and baked till crisp…fast food for vegetarians!
