No need to whisper, we’ve got Ninjas, Aliens, Robots and much more so let’s get right to it!

Doomsday Book (2012)

Look at this! The Winner of Best International Film at Fant-Asian Film Festival, this is a movie from the directors of OLD BOY and I SAW THE DEVIL: Jee-woon Kim and Pil-Sung Yim!

“Doomsday Book” is three part omnibus film from Korea dealing with the end of times. Check out the trailer:

In Chapter One (“A Brave New World”), a mysterious virus brings the city to ruins and zombies flood the streets of Seoul. The second chapter, called “Heavenly Creature” finds a robot who reaches enlightenment while working at a temple.

The cyborg’s reward for intellectual quest is termination. In the final Chapter, “Happy Birthday,” a little girl logs into a strange website and is soon responsible for a meteor heading directing toward Earth.

These two Directors are two of the absolute best working out of Asia today, so I cannot wait to see this! And of course, if you haven’t yet seen Oldboy….

Well, C’MON, we’ll wait…I’ve written this movie up before – it is brilliant – and of course “I Saw The Devil” as well!

Unleash The Battle, Indeed! AVN: Alien vs Ninja! (2010)

How can you argue about this: the producers of TOKYO GORE POLICE and MACHINE GIRL join Nikkatsu Studios for this Japanese rendition of the American hit COWBOYS VS ALIENS! Check out the trailer!

aliens versus ninjas

In ancient Japan, the fiercest ninjas of the Iga clan face their toughest enemies… monsters from outer space! After a fiery mass crashes in the forest, savage creatures emerge, reducing the warriors to quivering body parts.

This is just the kind of over-the-top, crazy asian cinema that I like to showcase – this is “everything turned up to 11!” kind of filmmaking!
