Bravo To “The Kelly Clarkson Show” For Your Latest Emmy Wins! Here’s A Look At This Year’s Awards!

Bravo Team!

This was the scene Friday night, as the “TKCS” team celebrated backstage!

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” won its 4th consecutive Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show…going onto win 3 awards this year!

My wife Alex is Executive Producer / Showrunner of the series, and below is a shot of the entire senior team: on the left, Kareen Gunning-Rigby is also an Executive Producer. On the right below is Joanna Walsh, the EIC of the show (she handles all production issues and budgets – a massive undertaking for a show that does 180 hours a year) and Kevin Burke is Co-Executive Producer.

Congratulations to the entire “Kelly Clarkson Show” team for another great year!

To celebrate the three wins this year, I have three songs about overcoming obstacles and succeeding…beginning with one of the greatest rock anthems of all time:

“We Are The Champions” by Queen

As noted by the terrific website “iSpy Tunes” – who provided the commentary on all three songs:

“We Are The Champions” by Queen is the ultimate victory anthem, revered for its triumphant lyrics and unforgettable melody. This classic rock song has become synonymous with celebrations of all kinds, from sports victories to personal milestones.

“I’ve taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it’s been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
the human race
And I ain’t gonna lose

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions, my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions of the World!”

With Freddie Mercury’s powerful vocals and Brian May’s guitar prowess, it’s an enduring ode to conquering adversity and emerging victorious.

Enjoy!

Next Up: Journey!

“Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey is a timeless classic known for its hopeful lyrics and memorable melody. It’s an anthem for anyone who’s dared to dream and believed in their journey to success.

Workin’ hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice
Just one more time

Some’ll win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
Whoa, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waitin’
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin’ in the night
Streetlights, people
Livin’ just to find emotion
Hidin’, somewhere in the night

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlights, people

This motivational song inspires optimism and the belief that victory is within reach, and nothing’s gonna stop a determined person. Period.

And Of Course: Kelly!

Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” is an energetic pop track about resilience and triumph. Its catchy chorus and upbeat tempo make it a song of victory.

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn’t mean I’m lonely when I’m alone
What doesn’t kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn’t mean I’m over ’cause you’re gone
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself, and I
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller

The song’s message is clear: adversities make you stronger, and victory is the result of determination.

Enjoy the music video!

Bravo to everyone at “The Kelly Clarkson Show” fr another incredible year!

Kelly’s Duet With Alanis Morissette!

Week one of season five included another edition of “Songs & Stories”, this time with the iconic Alanis Morisette!

“Have you ever thought of running for office??” Alanis Morissette shares stories from her escape to India after the “Jagged Little Pill” tour, and how the experience inspired her passion for activism. She and Kelly sing her hit tracks “Thank You” and “Ablaze,” which Alanis wrote for her children and explains how becoming a mother has impacted her songwriting.

  1. Well done to everyone! Alex looks fabulous as does everyone else. I love the songs you picked. Perfect!

  2. I wish you could have seen me jumping up and down and cheering Kelly and the whole team. What a terrific post, and a huge congratulations. While the honor is very impressive, I must say it is well-deserved. Kelly is amazing. Her genuine ‘people skills’ (yes, she really cares) are as wonderful as her voice and music. That’s quite a feather in her cap.

Please pass on to Alex what a great (understatement) job she does. With a gazillion people on the set (which you never see on TV), she took the time to greet me with a big smile and warm handshake. No wonder Alex and Kelly work so well together; they are ‘the real deal’.

I love the photos! And, you picked three great songs for the three wins. Yes!

    • Thank you for the nice comment…yes, everyone works so hard to make it feel “effortless”…so glad you had a positive experience on the show, but really, everyone does because it is such a positive, joyful environment…I say this a bit more than usual after the show and Alex were defamed by one single disgruntled person.

  4. That’s an impressive honor. It must feel great to be validated for all of the hard work and behind the scenes things that go on that the general public has no clue about.

    • Thanks Pete – it was a great night of celebration for them – then she came home at 10p Friday and worked on scripts for Monday’s filming! She had champagne at least! Then she got up at 4a to fly back to New York – she was in LA for all of 29 hours!
