Well I didn’t, but this is another reason I love the world we live in!
The “Singing Ringing Tree” is a sculpture on the hill tops of Burnley, UK. As the wind passes through it, it plays a set of chords based on the direction and velocity of the wind.
Bravo to the Creator of this – here’s one “song” that came from it, shared on YouTube:
According to an online story I found, locals say it has never played the same song twice!
I have shared other stories of bridges that sing as well:
I walked across this bridge in Melbourne Australia – it plays music as you do so – click here to see video of that – and the story of how the Golden Gate Bridge has started to make music as well!

Burnley is a long way from Beetley, (210 miles to the north west, a 4-5 hour drive) and it is in the rather dismal county of Lancashire. So I have never heard that singing sculpture, John. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

These are fantastic! What a beautiful combination of art and nature.

That singing tree is amazing and a bit scary. Especially if you didn’t know about it and then came upon it suddenly.

Yes, it would work perfectly in a scary haunted place film to be sure – thanks for commenting!

It is very industrial, and it rains a lot there. This article doesn’t agree of course. 🙂
