It’s Raining Emmys!

I am so excited to share the news that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” has been awarded the most Daytime Emmys of any show on TV in 2022!

It began last week, when the show won 5 of the 7 Daytime Emmys in technical categories that were presented in a non-televised ceremony.

As this photo shows, the show team has a sense of fun, camaraderie and passion for TV that paid off last night, when the show ended up winning SEVEN Emmy Awards, the most of any show this year!

My wife is Executive Producer Alex Duda, who accepted the award on Kelly’s behalf for Best Talk Show Host, explaining that Kelly is with her children and didn’t want to leave them to fly to LA for the show….

Alex spoke on behalf of the show, joined by members of her team including Co-Executive Producer Kareen Gunning-Rigby.

As reported on an online website, this is what Alex said about Kelly:

With a group of folks who put the show together behind her, the EP explained, “We tried to be a show about connection. That’s what we started off being, because our host is a connector.”

“She is also a mood shifter,” the Executive Producer described Kelly. “If you go into a room and you’re in a funky mood, she will turn it around with just a conversation.”

The group gathered back on stage after Kelly won Outstanding Host. Describing Kelly’s likely response, Executive Producer Duda said she’d “probably say how awesome it is to get an award for the same thing she got in trouble for in school. Talking.” Additionally, Duda said the reason Kelly wanted to do a talk show was to “shine a light on people and organizations that bring good.”
