I know many of us are currently basking in the glow of the Biden/Harris win yesterday, but here’s a grim reminder of what is still at stake in terms of the pandemic. There’s another outbreak at the White House with at least six aides testing positive, including Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows. More than 130,000 new cases were reported Friday, and hospitalizations and deaths are increasing in 27 states. With almost 10 million people who have been infected, we have now lost more than 237,000 souls. President-elect Biden is making the pandemic a priority and will be announcing his coronavirus task force on Monday. As you try to wrap your head around the unimaginable toll Covid-19 has taken on this country, check out artist Suzanne Brennan Firstenberg’s “A Field of Flags.”

  2. It is shocking when you see all these flags. If you imagine bodies instead of flags, its much, much worse. I keep thinking of body bags all lined up and how long the line would be … it’s quite horrible.

  3. Jeez….The sheer scale of those I think unnecessary deaths is such a tragedy …I do hope Biden can get everyone to pull together and halt the rampage of Covid-19…

  5. Thanks for sharing this John. Unsurprisingly the pandemic took a back seat the last few days, but it’s still here.

    • Some people on the far right claimed it would go away after the election as it was only being talked about to hurt Trump. We have to get past the politics and just focus on a coordinated effort from the White House to come up with solutions to the epidemic…thank you so much for sharing that
