Budapest At Night! The Golden Glow Of Hungary’s History From The Danube River!

Welcome To Budapest!

Yes, this is the Danube River and we are standing on the Chain bridge that crosses over from west to east – the west side on the left is Buda, and the right side is Pest – and this Hungarian city is beautiful everywhere you look!

Sunset On The Danube!

Here is one of the buildings in the Parliament complex, just as the sun is beginning to set to the west – and as Budapest turns to night, the buildings change in many amazing ways:

This is the Chain bridge at sunset, and people flock to the riverside to watch the sunset, because that is when Budapest lights up in an amazing display of color:

Buda Castle!

One of the most amazing sights at night is the Buda castle complex, which overlooks the city and the Danube from Castle Hill. The Buda Castle includes the National Library, the National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum, and as you can see, is a golden glow at night…

The Parliament At Night!

I showed you the impressive Parliament building during the day, but at night, the golden lights give it an incredible beauty…

We took a sunset river boat cruise down the Danube and got to see all of these up close…here is a video of the scenery, with a live Hungarian band to accompany it:

There are a number of bridges across the Danube, and they all lead to new places to explore – still to come on our trip to Budapest, we “took the waters” at the Gellert Baths!

I’ll have that story soon, and I’ve already shared our journey into Budapest, aboard the Venice Simplon Orient Express train:

I got more than I bargained for when I filmed the steam engine bringing us into town – you can see that story here:

Let me know what you think of Budapest at night!

  1. Our daughter has just been there on her honeymoon and loved it all. Great shots of a beautiful place. One day I’ll get there too.
